Realizada en el seno del grupo EDEA (Dpto. Biología, Area de Ecología) de la Universidad de Cádiz.

Tituló “Estudios sobre el crecimiento en Zostera noltii Hornem.: Dinámica estacional y aspectos ecofisiológicos”. Em esta Tesis se describen cambios estacionales de las características demográficas, arquitecturales y dinámicas de esta de esta especie y de cómo la luz modula dichas características.

Gran parte del trabajo de esta tesis se realizó bajo un proyecto Europeo de colaboración (12/REGII/6/96; INTERREG II/Media 6) con la Universidad del Algarve (Portugal).

• PERIODO POSTDOCTORAL (2001-2003)

Este periodo fue desarrollado en el Centro de Estudios Marinos y Estuáricos de la Institución Holandesa KNAW-NIOO. Durante 6 meses, la estancia postdoctoral fue subvencionada por el Ministerio Español de Ciencia y Tecnología (MECYT). Posteriormente, G Peralta consiguió una Beca Marie Curie (cat. 30) de la Unión Europea que permitió desarrollar el proyecto de investigación ‘Hydrodynamic effects on seagrass morphometry and allometry, and feedback mechanisms’. Este proyecto alcanzó sus objetivos, demostrando los efectos de las fuerzas hidrodinámicas en la morfometría y la producción de las fanerógamas marinas y algunos de sus mecanismos de retroalimentación.
